Teazer's Gig!!!

Hello!
I just wanted to announce I'm going to be doing an acoustic gig, headlining at Teazer's in downtown Fresno on September 16th. Because it'll just be me & my keyboard, I'm going to play some stuff that I've wanted to play for awhile, but haven't. This show will feature new material that will be played especially for this show ONLY! I'll be playing 2 different 20 minnute sets, the first set will have my main stuff and songs from our new EP.  The second will have new songs with maybe 2 from "Things I'll Never Say" EP.

Can't wait to share them with you. Please come out and support me and Teazer's. :D

New Song: "Pretty"

I JUST finished this song. It's called "Pretty" Hope you enjoy it. I'll MAYBE play it on the 16th at Teazer's. It will not appear on the new EP. Thanks KT for always saying I was pretty. This is for you.

Pretty
Used to say that I was such a pretty girl
You loved my smile and my short, brown little curls
Oh, you tried.
You pulled me in with your deep brown eyes.
You reeled me in with your sweet little lies.
If I knew….I would’ve said goodbye.

Well I don’t ever wana hear you say
I never wana hear you say those words again….
Well I know had you in a spell
Cuz at one point I had you feeling like hell
Cuz I was pretty….
Your pretty girl.

I guess that I was just some clueless chick on your arm
But never guessed that I would ever cause so much harm…
To your heart. But, I was smart.
You told me I was pretty but I know it was a lie.
So don’t come back, don’t even try.
Cuz I’m with someone else tonight.

And I never want to hear you say..
I never wana hear you say those goddamned words again.
Well I know had you in a spell
Cuz at one point I had you feeling like hell
Cuz I was pretty….
Your pretty little girl

'She’s so pretty.'
'She’s so pretty.'
'She’s so pretty.'
'Such a pretty girl.'

I’m not your pretty
Not your pretty
Not your pretty
Not your pretty girl…
No way in hell.

Well I hope you’re gitty
Hope you’re gitty
That you lost your
Pretty little girl.
Pretty girl.

ANNOUNCEMENT: New EP !!!

Hello everyone!
I know it's been rather slow, but things are picking up. We were asked to headline a show at Full Circle Brewing Co. in Fresno and you know, we're working on a new EP....no big deal.

YES! New EP!
We haven't set a release date for it yet, but you can certainly expect a single at the latest by November. We're getting people together and instruments and finalizing scheduling still.
And we have two new members, Cameron Briggs (guitar) & Bree Lot (BGV's). Also, Katie Steinhauer (drums) will be making a return! So excited.

This new EP will include 6 songs and will be quite a bit more upbeat than the last. We explore a variety of different genres, including folk, pop, retro, funk, singer/songwriter. Themes will include domestic violence, sexuality, religion, and others. We will also be re-recording a new version of "I Know."

More info and announcements to come soon!

So Basically....

Hello there!
So, here's the scoop.  We have a TON of plans in the works now for the band, but nothing is entirely set in stone. We're going to try to be gigging much more this upcoming fall season with the intention of getting bigger festivals. You can expect a lot of newer material and I won't say anything for sure, but there's even talks of us maybe recording another EP in the near future....but...you didn't hear it from me. :-)

Since April, we've had a lull period of thinking and hashing out of where to go. Once everything is figured out, I'll be sure to let you know. I'll be making official announcements soon. And we may or may not have3 a gig on August 17th. I'll try to get more videos soon....I've been so incredibly lazy about that. Please forgive me. Until then, keep checking OUR FACEBOOK for updates. :-) Thank to those of you who have been coming to our shows and who have been sticking it out.
You're awesome and we could not continue without you!

Love Always,
SirenSinging.

Show This Saturday!

Hello All!
Great news, we have a spur of the moment show scheduled for this Saturday night in Exeter, CA at the Cappella Coffee House at 7:30PM. It'll be a unplugged show...kind of. It won't be full band-- me, my keyboard, and some guitar. As an added bonus, if you come, I'll be premiering 2 new songs, "Dehumanized" and one I haven't previously posted I just finished writing called "Singin' the Blues."

I would love to have you come out! It'll be a great night. I believe My Beautiful Surrender is headlining as well.
So, if you like coffee and good music and are near Exeter or Visalia, come on out!!

Love always,
SirenSinging <3

Updateee

Hey guys!
I know the last couple months have been SUPER slow. It's been a time of creative energies, reforming and rethinking...and all kinds of craziness. But, I wanted to let you know that currently I'm scheduling gigs. I'm looking at performing a show with the talented singer/song-writer SilverTooth in August.  Also, I'm looking at scheduling smaller gigs around the Central Valley.  I will let you know when more stuff comes up.
Definitely expect newer songs to be premiered!!! I'll put a set list up as a teaser.
Thank you all for sticking around.

Talk to you all soon!

Always,
SirenSinging<3

The Plane

Hey all! I wrote a new song called "The Plane." Enjoy.

The Plane

Walls been torn down
The charred dirty ground
That plane went down in flames.
I'm not afraid of a little pain.
Got on a plane
Had the world to gain
It went faster everyday
Thoughts went astray
Heart unrestrained
Passion turned to flame.

High up in the clouds
We were heavenbound
Love began to call
We began to fall

Felt a sudden shake
Wings began to break
As we hit the hurricane.
Im not afraid of a little pain.
I cannot explain
The storm pushed us away
To a place far from grace
Feels bittersweet
When the sky and earth meet
We accepted our defeat.

Burning up the skies
Wont open my eyes
It's better not to know
Then to let go.
Swallowed into flames
Left to decay
I'll hold you in your pain
Just don't turn away

We fight everyday.
Just to run away.
Even in the night
The flame still burns bright.
Fighting for our lives
Fighting to survive.
The plane dived
My heart died.

No Place To Hide

Finished this song today. :-)

No Place To Hide

Swing open the door. I’ve never seen you this way before.
You don’t need a gun. You get the words right off your tongue.
Now can you see why I am the way that I am?
And though you’ll scream, I refuse to give a damn.

 Look at me.
Won’t you look at me?
Can’t you see the look on my face?
I won’t cower, your heart’s gone sour.
Now you live with the disgrace.
I’ll be like your shadow
There’ll be no place that you can go.
Yes, my dear, you can try.
But there’s no place you can hide.

You parade around, thinking you’ve got the higher ground.
But what you forget, is that I got in your head.
When it starts to burn, just know it’s me that’s under your skin.
Now it’s your turn, I hope it eats you from within.

Look at me.
Won’t you look at me?
Can you see the look on my face?
I won’t cower, your heart’s gone sour.
Now you can live with disgrace.
I’ll be like your shadow
There’ll be no place that you can go.
Yes, my dear, you can try.
But there’s no place you can hide.

Walk away from me. Run away from me.
You can not hide from me.
While you’re sleeping you will be dreaming of me
You’ll never be free.
Walk away from me. Run away from me.
You can’t hide from me.
It’s you I’m taunting. It’s you I’m haunting
You will never break free.

Look at me.
Won’t you look at me?
Can you see the look on my face?
I won’t cower, your heart’s gone sour.
Now you can live with disgrace.
I’ll be like your shadow
There’ll be no place that you can go.
Yes, my dear, you can try.
But there’s no place you can hide.

The Key

I just finished writing this song. :-)

The Key
She’s a tower, locked far from her all fears,
The fear of her failures.
She feels the heat, but she won’t speak a word.
You can’t risk a heart stirred.

Forget me. Forget me, my friend.
Just turn away.
There’s no key, no key. Oh, it’s gone.
They threw it away.

She wish she could go back in time
To rewrite her actions.
How she wished, how I wish that you could have missed her heart.

Forgive me. Forgive me my sins.
But it’s too late.
That’s the key. Here’s the key.
Just let me in. The lock  is within.

Lock her away, far away
She’ll sleep a thousand years, a thousand years.

Forget me. Forget her.
She’s gone. So far from gone.
You’ve lost her. They’ve lost her.
There’s no key…
Not to me…..

Still Here!

Hey all! I know it's been slow lately, but we're slowly picking up some pace.
I've been writing lots and will post some new song lyrics later today and hopefully upload some videos.
Thanks for stickin' it out. Also, the facebook has been updated more than this site lately.

Musicians Wanted!

Hi all!
Sorry it's been so long! The month of April was seriously chalk full of buy-ness.
We played like 3 shows and they were by far some of the best we've played.
Currently, we do not have anything on the calendar, but are kind of in a reformation process and are looking for a good drummer and a good guitarist.
If you are interested and from the Fresno area, please feel free to contact me via email at

Your Music Shot...

Why hi there folks!
So, we took the Chain Reaction gig and the ticket selling madness starts NOW! However, this is not why I'm here at the moment. I'm here because I've spent most of the afternoon trying to find more wonderful music. I love music. Have I ever mentioned that? Well in case you haven't noticed, I do!
Now, I don't know if this is just me, but does anyone feel like there's been a serious lack of good music lately? I turn on the radio and everything wreaks...except Cee Lo Gree and Katy Perry's ET. Not much music has been released that has really "tickled my musical fancy" so I took it upon myself today to devote most of the afternoon to find some more sweet sounds. Here's a shorter playlist of songs for you to enjoy that are not so well-known or are ...or will become.
:-)

New Song: Skeletons

Hey guys. New song. Basically, it's about addicitions and skeletons in our closets. It's about how our addictions control us and how we lie to ourselves that we don't have problems, though we know we do. We let time continue to pass us by, lying that there's nothing wrong, thought knowing there's something wrong. In the end, we're our own worst enemy because we continue to let time fly, bonding us closer with our addiction and continuing to live in the world of lies we fabricated ourselves.

Is this the life that you wanted?
Hyped up on some damn narcotic?
Isn't it just ironic,
That its your antibiotic?
Haunted by memories unwanted
The truth is always thwarted
Can't you see who's at fault?
We're simply our own rag dolls...

Just watch the time
It flies by...
It flies by
Look in their eyes.
O, they lie.
How they lie.

Look how our demons controlled us
Can't say that they never warned us
I saw the warning signs
Yet, how do we escape this time...
What could this sick feeling mean
thats trapped up inside of me?
I feel like I'm being maimed
By my invisible chain.

Can you feel it?
Some strange essence
Can you see it?
Its dark presence.

Look at the time
It flies by
How it flies
Look in my eyes
How I lie
O, I lie.

Dehumanized

Hey guys!
I wrote a new song tonight. It's a little dark. Cool thing? You can now listen to song clips via SoundCloud. Go to the bottom for the song mp3.
Enjoy.

Dehumanized by sirensinging

Dehumanized
Smell
Wake up and smell the air
The sweat, the must, the heat
Never quite aware.
View
Could not make out the view
The dark, the wall, the blur
Mentally withdrew

You saw her
You saw her troubled sleep.
You hear her
You hear her when she weeps.
Go behind closed doors so they can never see
Go behind closed doors so they can’t hear her…

Screams.
She silently screams
The pain inside she feels
Won’t let her be.
Blood.
She sees all this blood.
The blood, some scrapes, a bruise:
Bodily abuse

You touched her.
You touched her in her sleep.
You hear her
You hear her when she weeps.
All alone, the moonlight isn’t all that bright.
All alone, we were so far from human sigh that night.

The things that you do, I hope they haunt you.
The things that you do, I hope they haunt you.
The things that you do, I hope they haunt you.
The things that you do, I hope they haunt you.

You touched me.
You touched me in my sleep.
You heard me.
You heard my silent plea.
Could not think, I could not speak: was paralyzed.
Could not breathe, I could not scream: dehumanized.

Open Mic Madness!

Lately, we've been hitting up local open mics around town.
Fresno is a great town for open mic nights.
Last Wednesday, we went to the IronBird Cafe and last night we went to The Revue Cafe. It was pretty cool not only cuz we got to perform, but also we got to see other local talent.

So, stay tuned! We may be coming to an open mic near you!

Quickie

Hey guys!
Tonight my bassist (JP Sander/BFF!)& I played a 2-song acoustic set at the Iron Bird Cafe and it went super well. And by the way, for those of you reading in Fresno, you seriously need to go there. Their food and drink selection is really impressive. Not only is it a coffee shop, but they serve scrumptious looking sandwiches, various coffees & teas, smoothies, and juices! On top of that, they have open mic every Wednesday.
What's not to love about this place?
See yuh later, Starbucks.....no. Seriously.
Also, I know I'll be going back hopefully next week or the week after to do more shows.
In other news, we will once again be on Central Valley Talk live this Friday doing a short acoustic set.
Just wanted to give you all a heads up.
And if you haven't got your free music, you really should download it!!!

As a sidenote....Noah & the Whale's new album "Last Night on Earth" came out this week and I heard somewhere that Laura Marling (apart from winning a Brit award this week! YAY) is releasing another full length album within the year. My week was made by these 2 things. If Laura Marling releases something new...I may just die of happiness.
Anyways!
Talk to you soon!
Love always,

Aimee Allen!

So I wrote on singer Aimee Allen's facebook wall yesterday and she responded!!! The proof is below! This made my day. :-)

So excited!
Listen to her album "A Little Happiness." It's seriously a great album, one of the few I can actually sit down and listen to the whole thing from start to finish.

CVT Videos

Hey guys!!!
So...last night was the KuppaJoe show and it went AWESOME! We played with the bands The Harm, My Beautiful Surrender, and A Current Affair. They were all so talented and I feel so privileged to have been in the same line-up as those guys. On top of that, the actual venue was so nice and just full of wonderful people.
For those of you who missed out, I'll be posting some videos soon. In the meantime, I've got videos from Central Valley Talk Radio, if you missed it back in January. I played there yesterday to fill in and then the band will be playing again this coming Friday. More news later! I have videos from yesterday & January. Enjoy!

I Just Came To Say Hello!

Hello peeps!
I just wanted to check in since I've kind of been lagging lately. Band rehearsals in prep for this Friday (KuppaJoe) have been going super well. Our lead guitarist got sick though and had to be hospitalized. No bueno. So, it's been a little stressful to figure out what's going to happen with the guitar situation, but I think we've got it figured out.  I want my friend to get better...he has pneumonia! Crazy, right?!?!
Anyways, so we'll be featuring Daniel Garrison & Evan Walsh on guitars. It'll be a great night. It's our official CD release show AND we'll be premiering "You & I" in Fresno as well as a new song called "Mr. Fearless."
Dude..I'm so excited for you all to hear it. "Mr. Fearless" was originally going to be on the EP, but instead got cut and "Wish I Could" made the cut. I am still hoping to get some videos up of the Biola Eddy, but I'm really falling behind. I started work today, so...I'm like leading a double life. Receptionist by day, pop star by night. You know...just your average Hannah Montana wannabe.
Yes, I did watch Hannah Montana when I was 21.
Don't judge me!

Anyway!
I've had a lot of new song ideas...lots of fun stuff and musically different sounds. I recently discovered the wonderful genre of SKA!!! It's so fun. I couldn't get enough of Lily Allen's wannabe ska, so I've been listening to this band called the Skatalites. Also, I've been getting into Los Campesinos, but I think I told you about that already. The bassist in the band (JP) has been on a song writing kick as well, writing this song about trusting in love again. He's definitely the lover type. No hatin' there.
What do you think, readers? Is love worth trusting in? And are we really trusting in love or we trusting the person we are loving & receiving love from? Is it worth it?
I don't know. I've been thinking about a lot of stuff these days...don't get me started, but I'm sure it will come out in the newer songs.

Well, that's all for now, folks. I'm a working woman, so I need to hit the sack before 12 if I am to successfully roll out of bed at 7am. Hope you are all doing well and I hope to see you at the KuppaJoe show this Friday!!! I will leave you with a wonderful song I recently discovered called "Hello." It's a keeper!
Love Always,
SirenSinging<3

Everything Under The Sun!!!

Hey guys!
Not to much to report EXCEPT that I got the physical EP in the mail today...all 300 copies. Yes, that's a lot of CDs, hence why you should come out to our shows and BUY THEM!!!! At the show they'll be $5 a piece...I think that's a little cheaper then it'll be on iTunes, actually.

In other news, we're playing at KuppaJoe a week from tonight, billed along with A Current Affair, Beautiful Surrender, and The Harm. It'll seriously be a sweet show. I'm really excited. I checked out the venue tonight. If you come to the show, we'll be premiering yet ANOTHER new song that no one's heard before called "Mr. Fearless." It's totally different then anything you've all heard yet. Think Maroon 5 beats. Also, we're playing a fashion show at Club Habanos. I'm stoked.

Bandwise, there's a lot of transition going on. We have a new drummer, James, who's great and we're in the process of finding a new guitarist or 2. Once we're settled, we going to schedule gigs like mad and I'm hoping in April to get something going. Our goal is to build a good fan base and "conquer Fresno" and then the Valley. We have other plans too, but...they will remain nameless until otherwise noted!

So, that's all that's going on here.
Hope you all are doing well. I start actual work on Monday...it's kinda crazy. I'll be a receptionist by day and a rock star by night...well. Not really a rock star....in a band. Whatever! I think you get what I mean!
Talk to you all soon!
PS: The Biola University Eddy was BOMB!!!!! I'll try and upload some videos soon. I felt it was a great first gig. It's crazy, there's so many things that run through your mind during a show. You can't afford to think about them, but you do. It's fun though. I'm hoping KuppaJoe's will be more smooth. Biola was smooth, but it was our first gig, so...there's this level of uncertainty and "fear of the unknown." Like...will the audience like us? ...Will they be bored? ...I dno. We're new...we'll see. lol. Anyways, that was kind of a long PS.
Night, my people!!!
Love Always,
SirenSinging<3

Not To Be

Hey guys! Yet another song!!!!!
I'm not on a huge song kick, but I'm trying to finish up some older ones. I did start this one and "Fading Fast" this week though. This is a ballad.
Enjoy!!!

Not to Be
It’s overstated that I’m frustrated.
Oh my dear, our love has faded.
It’s fading.
Your heart is jaded and I’m still waiting.
Waiting for the love you’re trading in…
Trading for her.

And I would’ve given you everything.
I would’ve given you everything.
But it’s not to be.

Here for you, not here for me.
It’s done for you and you’re done with me.
Now let me be.
You made your bed, my friend.
And this time it has got to end.
I won’t be here for you.

During that night, I can’t deny
The way I felt, the way my heart did melt.
Love can’t be overrated.
Life can’t be overstated.

And I would’ve given you everything.
I would’ve given you everything.
But it’s not to be.
I hope you don’t lose yourself.
Don’t lose yourself.

Fading Fast

Hello peeps. New song I finished tonight. I'm not even entirely sure what it's about...I just kind of wrote and these are the lyrics I came up with naturally.
Feel free to interpret them the way you want.
FYI: KuppaJoe is a week from tomorrow AND I should be getting the physical EP's in the mail tomorrow!!! So excited!!!

Fading Fast

Everything all looks the same.
I'm just a player in the game.
If you look closely, then you will see
Nothing is quite as it seems.
Welcome to this strange bazaar.
From reality, we are far.
If you look closely, then you can see:
Nothing is quite as it seems.

We're fading fast.
We won't last.
We will never
Come back, ever.

I am just learning to breathe.
Though my bones continue to seethe,
Everything I thought, I strangely mistook.
And deserves a second look.
Wake up & smell this air,
I wish that I truly cared.
But when every shadow is smiling at me,
How can I find my well-being?

Heaven, sing me to sleep.
Heaven, sing me to sleep.
Heaven, sing over me.
Sing over those oceans deep.

It's fading fast.
It won't last.
I will never,
Come back, ever.

We'll be in front of the mailboxes playing a 20 minute set starting at 8:15PM. Our band will include Sal Aguirre, JP Sander, Jay Tatco-Nowak and of course, your truly! There will be 4 other bands as well. We'd absolutely LOVE for you to come out and support us!

Just so you know, we also just wrapped up another weekend of recording the surprise song "You & I." You guys, I'm so excited for you to hear this song. Finally, I thought I'd share the album cover of the EP with you guys! It's not even a month away until the release date. But here. you. go! Enjoy! Comment away, my friends!!

From Within

Hey guys.
New Song!!!
It's called "From Within."

From Within

There was a time I was
Scared of my shadow
I didn’t know what it’d show.
I feared all the things that I
Might become and the
Things had made me undone

When I called you that day
Everything seemed to fade
It’s like everything, everything seemed to go away
Then all the dark
It disappeared
It all cleared, yes, it cleared
All the things that I’d feared.

I was afraid I’d be
Locked far away
In my mind, left behind.
Far from the truth our sights
Glaze and confuse.
First friendly lies, I now hope to refuse.

Breathe it all in.
See the beauty within.
When I took this all in
The walls crumbled from within

Happy Valentines, My Sleepy Heads.

I think I just died and went to heaven.
This is a cover of PassionPit's "Sleepy Head." It's covered by a band called Run Toto Run. Seriously. I like cried when I heard it. It's like...pure heaven and a universe of beautifulness wrapped up in a shiny, warm box with red ribbon ready to be opened on Christmas morning. It's like...you're going on a gondola ride through the canals of Venice looking at the stars reflection in the water, while a beautiful Italian man is singing to you.
I love this song that much.

So, Dear Fans,
This is my Valentine's gift to you.
Enjoy.

Mini-Web Disaster Averted!

Hey all!
Several new things in the mix. But...I almost caused a disaster with this site. The sitch?
I'm creating a "real" official site currently that's ready to open, but I'm not entirely sure how to move the domain there, so the domain was down because I started tampering with the DNS & CName servers. For those of you who don't know what that is...there's no real easy way of explaining it, so just be happy you don't have to worry about it.
To say the least, it was scary.

With that in mind, you can take a look at the future "official site" by going to the link below.
SirenSinging at Weebly

Once the new site opens, this blog/site will remain open and act as my blog...and will be regularly updated, but at the address of thesirensinging.blogspot.com
This isn't for awhile though.

Also as you may already know, the band has LOTS of upcoming events and much more in the works.
I'll put a post up about it pretty soon!
I promise!
Make sure and buy "When I Saw You" on iTunes!!!!
I've attached a fun video below for your enjoyment. It has nothing to do with the band, but I found it quite amusing and I hope you enjoy it.
Love you all lots!

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post! I meant to update you sooner than this. In all honesty, there's not too much going on to report. We do have a gig though on February 24 at Biola University. We got the Eddy concert!!!! Very very excited!
That's pretty much all that's new. Also, there may be a new song that appears on the EP. But...you didn't hear it from me.

Hope you are all doing well! I promise to add some new videos soon!

Full Band Rehearsal!

Hey guys!
I had such an awesome day today. We had the full band rehearsal and it was amazing. I know I say things are amazing a lot, but I'm not joking and I'm not over-dramatizing at all. The musicians are incredible and of the highest caliber. We worked 3 songs today, "When I Saw You," "Ironic," and a surprise song for our CD release party. I'm not going to say much about this song, but I will say that it is a good one and definitely something I can't wait to share with you. It's a love song and it's upbeat. That's all I can say. :-) But...seriously. I was so impressed by the band today. I taught them the new song and they got it down within 3 run-through's. Very impressed.
I hope to have a video of the rehearsal up on youtube sometime tonight.

Remember to buy your copy of "When I Saw You" on iTunes, this Monday January 31st, 2011!!!!

Love Always,
SirenSinging<3

These are the awesome peeps in my band:

SirenSinging.Com!!!!!!

Hello Readers!
While we are still hosted at Blogspot.com, this site has it's own domain...meaning, you can tell people to just go to SirenSinging.com and you will be directed to this site.

I know this may not be a big deal or a big switch, but having my own domain name has seriously been a dream of mine since I was like in 7th grade. The dork inside is showing. I know.
Don't judge me.

This whole SirenSinging thing is seriously making my dreams come true...all I need to do is land a record deal, graduate from college, and find a good man and like I'd be set for life. Just kidding...kind of.

Anyways, that's it. But, this IS the official SirenSinging website now. It always was, but now it has a brand-spanking, shiny .COM attached to it making it even cooler.

Alright.
It's 3AM. Time for bed...and I will update you as to our awesome pending gig, potential pending bonus track, potential release date, and other potential stuff I haven't really talked much about.

Have a good night!!!...er...morning.
Love always,
SirenSinging<3

Gig Update

Hey guys!
Several cool little gig tidbits for you.
On Thursday I will be playing on the Chuck Leonard Show, part of Central Valley Radio, at 4PM-6PM. It's an online radio station, so check it out! It'll be a lot of fun. It's my first "official" gig. AND! My dad will be playing, so that'll be pretty sweet.

I just got confirmation from Biola University that I will be playing sometime in February in the Eddy's concert for sure. There's been no date set at the moment, but I'm definitely in. I'll keep you updated there. Finally, I was asked to sing at this Sweetheart Dinner at People's Church on February 12th for some firefighters. I'm pretty excited. It's a private event only though. But, I'll see if I can take some videos. :-)
That's all for now, folks!....except that I have 2 new websites:

SirenSinging at Last.Fm
SirenSinging at RootMusic/Band Page

Ok, now that's all.
Peace!

Weekly Update!

Hello All!
It's SirenSinging here...as usual.
I don't have too much info to report. Tomorrow I'll be meeting with the guitarists for the first time. I'm really excited. And I'll be having a meeting with the drummer as well. This morning I met the bassist for the band and he was really cool. I feel blessed to have such great people to work with. Seriously. They all are so talented AND are in this for free. I am too at this point, cuz I'm not really expecting money being a newbie, you know?

Mad props to my dad for learning the songs "When I Saw You" and "Wish I Could" on the guitar in like freaking 2 days. I am very appreciative. He's going to back me while I sing/play for Central Valley Radio this week. I owe him mucho. For reals, though. I'm glad I get to play with him though. We used to play together all the time when I was in high school. We even won this talent show back in the day when I was like this sophomore. We won like...a trip to the tanning salon? Seriously. Who gives high schooler's trips to tanning salon's? I feel like that's so...I dno. Damaging? Whatever.

Hopefully this week I'll be getting the artwork for the CD and be digitally releasing the EP in the next week or two. I HOPE!!! I HOPE!!! I HOPE!!! In other news...not much. I have this whole week off which I've dedicated to working with the band and writing music...and reading...and sleeping. My upcoming semester will be pretty miserable. But, in the meantime I've got lots of new songs in the works..like, 4-7 new songs, not counting "The Manifesto." I will explain that one soon. I promise. I wrote one in the style of Motown/Amy Winehouse tonight that I'm SUPER excited about. I'm actually thinking about posting clips of stuff I write online for you all to hear so before gigs we can do like requests of non-EP songs. I do hope to put some of these on future recordings...should there be future recordings. I seriously hope there are future recordings. That would be amazing.
That's pretty much it. :-)
Hope you all are doing well & hello to the new fans at Reverb! SirenSinging gained like...13 new fans today. Pretty freakin' sweet!!! I'm going to post another post with a playlist of the week for you to enjoy!
Love you all lots!

Central Valley Talk!

More and more things keep happening!
It's so wild and so cool. :-)
This afternoon I got a message on Facebook asking to appear on Central Valley Talk Radio on the Chuck Leonard Show this week. I'm trying to figure out how that's going to work with the band...since I start meeting with them on Monday. But, we'll figure it out! I'm so excited. AND! This morning I got a message on ReverbNation from an agent on MyAfton.com asking to book us places.

Crazy!
Cool!
So excited!
I got to get ready for the day.
Peace!

The Manifesto

Hey kids!!!
Not too much to report EXCEPT new song lyrics. I was sitting over a drink with a good friend of mine, talking government, humanity, history, etc..and I was inspired to write this. It's kind of reflecting on all of the things we talked about and the things I was thinking and feeling at the time. There is a point to this song....but I think I'll let you have your opinion first before I say anything.
This song is called "The Manifesto."

"The Manifesto"

"The Manifesto"
What if I told you everything I was thinking?
Something about you keeps me from speaking.
From what I know, I can't take this much more.
What if I told you that we're really crazy?
What if I told you the future's really hazy?
All that I know, keeps making me want more.

Well they say that I'm free.
If that's true, let me be.
They set the stage for the show
But I won't go.
I can't go.

Then you continue to tell me what you're thinking
I start to read you and won't find what I'm seeking.
All that I know is, I'm ready to go.
All that I know is I won't go with the flow.
And for all that I know, the past is a shadow.

What's shining is the manifesto.
All the things we have felt--we have outgrown.
All the lies that we buy--we already know.
Yet I'm still here
Was it all just a game in the ending?
We'll get used and abused by the ending.
What the hell? I can't tell.
What's the ending?But I'm still here.
I'm waiting here.

So what if I told you everything but the truth? And I didn't tell you that everything fell through?
Cuz from what I know, they're running this show.
What if I told you everything you wanted?
What if I told you, these words can't be trusted?
All that I know, keeps making me want more.

Well he says that I'm free.
If that's true, let me be.
He'll set the stage for the show
Yet I'll still go
Cuz I can't let go.

And though I'm sweetly smiling, I am slowly dying.
And though I'm slowly dying, I cannot help but trying
All that I know is, I'll never get the go.
With all that I know, the feelings never show.
And for all I know, we're living in the afterglow.

What shining is the manifesto.
All the things that we felt-- we have outgrown.
All the lies that we buy--we already know.
Yet I'm still here
Was it all just a game in the ending?
We'll get used and abused by the ending.
What the hell- I can't tell.

What's the ending?
But I'm still here.
I'm waiting here.

Why yes, dear friends, I sought the light
I'm thinking that I'll be alright
Once I've gone out and fought this fight
And figure out what's wrong from right.
So keep on telling me these stories
One day get the allegory
And escape this purgatory.
But I cannot help but thinking,
While I sit here slowly sinking,
And as you continue drinking
That we're wrong.

Well if I say that I'm free,
I am free, free indeed.
Let me set the stage for their show:
For their crude manifesto.

KuppaJoe!

Hey guys!
Apparently today is my lucky day. Not even joking.
I got a message from the booking person at KuppaJoe's in Fresno, CA and they want SirenSinging to play there. We haven't got any dates nailed down, but all I've got to say is DANG!
I'm so encouraged and so excited. I feel like everything is really coming together. Everyone I've talked to about the project has been so responsive and willing to work with SirenSinging. Today alone has been a HUGE day for me. I'll list:

  1. Club Retro gives us dates
  2. KuppaJoe makes contact
  3. WE'VE GOT A GUITARIST! (who happens to know the bassist. Wayyy cool!)
  4. Several new Reverb & Facebook fans
  5. Continued upward momentum on Reverb
  6. Contacted by several artists giving support and wanting to work with me
  7. Artwork should be finished by the end of next week
  8. Got all of my distribution & pressing accounts together
  9. Finishing up building a web-presence & EPK's.
Granted, I've been like...staying up super late to do all of this stuff, but it's seriously worth it. And it's been so fun. I feel so blessed to be able to live my dream and live out my passions. It's so fulfilling. The best part is that this is only the beginning!!!

Here's where we are as far as the EP release goes:
I hope to have it released sometime in late February. I should have the completed project by mid-Feb, if all goes according to schedule. Once the artwork is done, I'm going to go crazy with promotion and be asking you (readers!) to help me with this! I'll give more details in the next couple days. I'm hoping to have *at least* one CD release party. We'll see what ends up happening.

Anywho!
That's pretty much the deal with everything.
I hope you are all well. As always, stay tuned!
Love always,
